The company Gaelchultúr Teoranta (Ltd.) was established in 2004 with the aim of promoting the Irish language and various aspects of Irish culture, including music, song and dance, in Dublin and other parts of Ireland.
At the beginning of February 2005, Gaelchultúr moved into a new space in the Filmbase building, Curved Street (opposite the music venue The Button Factory) in Temple Bar and the company's activities take place there now.

Éamonn Ó Dónaill is originally from the Donegal Gaeltacht of Gaoth Dobhair. He spent six years (1996-2002) working as Director of the Department of Modern Irish’s Language Centre, UCD, and then worked as a language consultant.
Éamonn was editor of the online magazine Beo! (www.beo.ie) from its establishment in 2001 until September 2007. He is also a director of the company Sult Ltd. (www.clubsult.com) which has been running an Irish language club in Dublin city centre since 1999. He was on the founding committee of Raidió na Life, the Dublin-based Irish language community station which was established in 1992, and he spent several years broadcasting with the station on a voluntary basis.
Éamonn has been language co-ordinator of two television series aimed at learners: Turas Teanga (www.rte.ie/tv/turasteanga), which was broadcast by RTÉ in 2004, and Now You’re Talking which was shown on BBC and RTÉ in 1995. He also wrote the books which accompanied those two series. His most recent books are Teach Yourself Irish Grammar (2005) and Gramadach gan Stró! (2008) (www.siopa.ie).
Éamonn has been Director of Education with Gaelchultúr since 2005.
Darren Ó Rodaigh is originally from Bray, Co. Wicklow. After the Leaving Certificate, he spent a year working with the Irish language organisation Coláiste na bhFiann. He graduated with honours in Finance, Computing and Entrepreneurship from Fiontar, Dublin City University.
He and fellow student Eoin Ó Ceallacháin set up the company zamano (www.zamano.com) in the year 2000. The company, which now employs 20 people, develops software for mobile telephony. It has developed the Smart Ass game for Esat Digifone (now O2) and the software for the group texting service provided by the same company.
Darren has been working as Gaelchultúr's Commercial Director since 2009.
