The Covid-19 crisis

Tá Gaelchultúr ag déanamh teagmháil rialta lena gcuid foghlaimeoirí chun iad a choinneáil ar an eolas faoi na bearta teagmhais atá á gcur i bhfeidhm ag an institiúid. Déanfar cinnte leis na bearta thíos go mbeidh Gaelchultúr ag cloí le rialú iomlán acadúil agus le prionsabail i dtaobh dearbhú cáilíochta a fhad is a leanann an ghéarchéim ar aghaidh.
Gaelchultúr is in regular contact with its learners to keep them informed of the contingency measures being implemented by the institute. The measures below will ensure that Gaelchultúr adheres to full academic governance and quality assurance principles for the duration of the crisis.

Dioplóma Iarchéime san Aistriúchán (DISA)

Déanfar léachtaí deireanacha an tseimeastair a theagasc ar líne seachas sa seomra ranga. Tá na dátaí agus na hamanna do na léachtaí sin deimhnithe leis na mic léinn.
The final semester lectures will be taught online rather than in the classroom. The dates and times for these lectures have been confirmed with the students.

Tá sé fós beartaithe ag Gaelchultúr na scrúduithe deireadh seimeastair a chur ar siúl ag tús mhí na Bealtaine. Tuigimid, áfach, go bhfuil baol mór ann go gcuirfear na scrúduithe sin ar athlá. Tá suirbhé scaipthe ar na mic léinn cheana féin le fáil amach cad iad na dátaí i mí Lúnasa is fearr a d’oirfeadh sé dóibh tabhairt faoi na scrúduithe, más gá iad a chur siar. Cuirfear scaradh sóisialta i bhfeidhm le linn na scrúduithe nuair a bheidh siad ar siúl.
Gaelchultúr still plans to hold the end of semester examinations at the beginning of May. However, we understand that there is a great risk that these examinations will be postponed. Students have already received a survey to find out which dates in August would be most suitable for them to take the exams, if they are postponed. Social distancing will be enforced during the exams when they do take place.

Tá fáil i gcónaí ag mic léinn an DISA ar réimse leathan acmhainní ar líne, rud a fhágann go bhfuil siad in ann leanúint ar aghaidh leis an staidéar. Tá an obair leanúnach á seoladh acu chuig Gaelchultúr ar an ríomhphost, mar is gnách, agus aiseolas á chur ar ais chucu ar an ríomhphost. Tá léachtóirí an chláir ar fáil ar bhonn leanúnach chun ceisteanna ar bith atá ag na mic léinn a fhreagairt agus chun comhairle a chur orthu nuair a iarrtar a leithéid.
DISA students continue to have access to a wide range of online resources, giving them the opportunity to continue their studies. They are sending all continuous assessment to Gaelchultúr by email, as usual, with feedback being emailed back to them. The programme lecturers are available on an ongoing basis to answer any questions students may have and to offer guidance when asked to do so.

An Teastas sa Ghaeilge Ghairmiúil (TGG)

Bunaithe ar threoir ó OneLearning, tá gach rang a bhí ar siúl in ionad oideachais Ghaelchultúir curtha ar athlá go dtí go bhfógrófar a mhalairt. Tá sé sin fíor i gcás an TGG ar líne chomh maith.
Based on guidance from OneLearning, all classes held in Gaelchultúr’s education centre have been postponed until further notice. This is true in the case of the online TGG course as well.

Tá na foghlaimeoirí ag fáil eolas leanúnach faoi chinntí na hinstitiúide.
Learners are continually informed about the decisions of the institution.

Tá na cúrsaí a bhí ar siúl in ionaid sheachtracha (Comhairlí Contae, mar shampla) curtha ar athlá chomh maith. Leanfar ar aghaidh leis na ranganna arís a luaithe agus is féidir agus beidh an cinneadh sin bunaithe ar threoir ó na rannóga traenála cuí.
Courses that took place in external centres (County Councils, for example) have also been postponed. Classes will resume as soon as possible and this decision will be based on guidance from the relevant training departments.

Tá rochtain fós ag gach foghlaimeoir de chuid an TGG ar chúrsa ar líne, áit a bhfuil ábhar uile an chúrsa ar fáil. Chuir an Riarthóir Acadúil é sin i gcuimhne do na foghlaimeoirí agus mhol sé dóibh leanúint ar aghaidh leis an staidéar idir an dá linn, más féidir.
All TGG learners still have access to an online course, where all the course content is available. The Academic Administrator reminded the learners of this and advised them to continue their studies in the meantime, if possible.

Nuair a thugann na húdaráis chuí cead do Ghaelchultúr cúrsaí sa seomra ranga a reáchtáil arís, cuirfear céimeanna ar nós scaradh sóisialta i bhfeidhm. Beidh díghalrán lámh ar fáil fós ar an láthair chomh maith.
When the relevant authorities allow Gaelchultúr to run classroom-based courses again, appropriate measures such as social distancing will be implemented. Hand sanitiser will also continue to be available on site.
