Gaelchultúr is running its popular Irish language evening classes in nine venues this autumn, including Cork, Dublin and Belfast. This is the eighth year Gaelchultúr has provided Irish language classes and more than 5,000 adults across Ireland have so far attended the company’s evening courses.
The autumn series of classes will be starting the week commencing 19 September 2011. Participants will attend a two-hour session (7.00–9.00 p.m.) one night a week for twelve weeks.
Classes are available at up to eight different levels, so there will be one to suit everyone, from those who’ve never studied Irish before, to those who are fluent in the language.
Learners who are not sure which level they should do can try Gaelchultúr’s hugely popular Online Irish Test. Since it was launched several years ago, over 20,000 people from all corners of the globe have done this test.
“It’s clear that people are a lot more careful with their money at the moment,” says Darren Ó Rodaigh, Gaelchultúr’s Commercial Director, “but we in Gaelchultúr are extremely pleased to see that a large number of people are still willing to attend our language courses and that they see our classes as being worth doing, even in this period of economic hardship. Fewer people are spending money in restaurants and on social events, therefore the social aspect of evening classes is more important than ever.
“We’re also pleased to be offering classes in Belfast now. We always wanted to be active on an all-island basis and we’re happy to have achieved that important goal.”
