Newsletter #12: September 2011

Competition

A range of items from our online shop, www.siopa.ie, are being offered as prizes to readers of Nuachtlitir Ghaelchultúir this month:

Prize 1: Irish language globe
This attractive globe was developed by COGG (An Chomhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta agus Gaelscolaíochta) and is suitable for both children and adults. The maps are up-to-date and the globe features information relating to the population of cities worldwide.

Prize 2: Scrabble
Scrabble has been extremely popular for over fifty years. It was first sold in 1948 and is now the world’s top word game. Scrabble has now been adapted for Irish, and the frequency and value of the letters have been adjusted. Irish Scrabble is perfect for all speakers of the language – from learners to those who are fluent.

Prize 3: The multimedia package Poteen Making
This package consists of a DVD and booklet on the traditional craft of poteen making and the history of illicit distillation in Ireland.

If you want to be in with a chance to win, send an email with the title “Comórtas” to eolas@gaelchultur.com by 5.00 p.m. on Friday, 30 September 2011. You must answer the following question in your email:

What is the title of the new textbook published by Gaelchultúr at the beginning of September 2011?

The names of the competition winners will be published in the next edition of this newsletter.
