The Ravelóid is drawing near. On the 10 June crowds will flock towards Ardgillan Castle and Demesne in north County Dublin to spend a weekend full of fun, music and culture at a brand new summer festival.
Some of the finest Irish musicians are set to perform at this unique festival which has the Irish-language at its heart. Amongst the bands that will play over the weekend are Kíla, Delorentos, The Riptide Movement, Bréag, Mundy, Altan, Hothouse Flowers and The Bonny Men. As is clear from that brief list alone Ravelóid will have something for everyone, both young and old, and there are more musicians still to be announced.
Though it’s the musicians and the singers that will attract the majority of festival-goers, there will be plenty of other things to look forward to over the three days. We are promised a wealth of drama and poetry at Ardgillan Castle and Demesne, as well as comedy, literary events, talks, workshops and a variety of food and drink at the stands around the festival.
An adult ticket (over 18 years) costs €99 and a ticket for younger attendees (12-18 years) costs €50. These are Early Bird prices, and will only be available until the end of this month. €99 is also the price for a family ticket, which will allow one grown up to attend the festival with a maximum of two children under the age of twelve. Camping is included in all tickets, and you can purchase them here.
