New multimedia course in Irish launched by two government ministers

Saturday, 26 November, was a historic occasion as two senior government ministers from both sides of the border were present in Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich in Belfast for the launch of Gaeilge gan Stró! – Beginners Level, a new multimedia Irish language course for adult learners, published recently by Gaelchultúr.

Gaelchultúr offering a wide range of classes again this spring

Gaelchultúr will be offering a rang of language classes this spring again, from the popular night classes to more specialised courses aimed at those who wish to greatly improve their writing skills or pursue a career as a teacher.

New diploma course in Irish for art teachers

The National College of Art and Design will be offering a new course, Diploma in Teaching through Irish (Art), from January 2012. This programme, which is being run in conjunction with Gaelchultúr, aims to give the participants the skills necessary to teach art effectively through Irish.

Gaelchultúr receives FETAC accreditation

Gaelchultúr was last month recognised as an award provider by FETAC and will be offering courses with certification to the public sector from early 2012.

Deal of the month on siopa.ie: Scrabble in Irish for €18 (RRP: €24)

The Irish version of Scrabble, will be the Deal of the Month again on www.siopa.ie. A wonderful Christmas present at a wonderful price, this game is suitable for all Irish speakers from fluent speakers to learners!

Irish language events: The Frankie Kennedy Winter School

Hundreds of musicians and traditional music enthusiasts will be heading to the Donegal Gaeltacht of Gaoth Dobhair at the end of this month to attend The Frankie Kennedy Winter School, an annual festival which first took place in 1994 and is still proving as popular as ever.
