The Certificate in Professional Irish: Walter Jayawardene's thoughts on the course

Walter Jayawardene has completed three levels of the Certificate in Professional Irish (An Teastas sa Ghaeilge Ghairmiúil, or TGG, in Irish). He did Level 4 in 2018 and Levels 5 and 6 last year. Nuachtlitir Ghaelchultúir spoke with him to find out his thoughts on the course.

Deiseanna Duitse: the best advice offered by the guests

During the ‘Deiseanna Duitse’ series, which was broadcast on Facebook Live last year, Gaelchultúr interviewed various people working in sectors in which a high standard of written Irish is required. In this article, we look at some of the advice they had to offer those who are interested in adding to their language skills, particularly in written Irish.

Gaelchultúr’s Postgraduate Diploma in Translation: Scholarship and entry process

This autumn, Coláiste na hÉireann/Gaelchultúr will again be offering the Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and a scholarship (i.e. the course without the fees) will be awarded to one student on the programme.

Tionól Gaeilge UCD to take place again this year

For a fourth year in a row, Gaeltacht UCD (formerly Bord na Gaeilge UCD) will be running a summer school, Tionól Gaeilge, in the university. This school, which is being organised in conjunction with Gaelchultúr, will take place on the Belfield campus between Monday, 29 June and Friday, 3 July.

Raidió na Life's Station Manager finds the Preparatory Course 'both enjoyable and beneficial'

Muiris Ó Fiannachta, who works as Station Manager of Raidió na Life, did the Intensive Preparatory Course in Written Irish (an Dianchúrsa Ullmhúcháin i gCruinneas na Gaeilge) last autumn with Gaelchultúr. We spoke with him recently to find out what it was like to go back to the classroom.
